Master Studies - Cascade Falls Yosmite Revisioned
This is a master study of Thomas Moran's painting Cascade Falls Yosemite.
A master study is an in depth recreation of a painting by an established artist. In this case, I chose Thomas Moran, because his way of arranging the composition always impresses me. There are plenty to learn from a painting by him, and I cannot wait to do more master studies on him.
The purpose of imitating a painting is to dissect a particular artist's way of depicting something, and learn about how an artist solved problems regarding value, color palette and composition.
